Prestigeous German "DVD Champion 2004" award this time for a Czech studio
About 500 guests from DVD and Entertainment business celebrated 5th anniversary of a prestigious Gala "DVD Night" where 14 "DVD Champion 2004" awards were given to publishers and personalities, incl. life time achievements etc. This year s "DVD Champion 2004 - Studio Award", for the most innovative DVD studio in the German market was assigned to the Czech company Digital Media Production (DMP) along with Sonopress and Concorde Home Entertainment, namely for the 1st European WMV-HD-DVD productions. Andreas Stumptner of Entertainment Media Verlag commented that fact with a smile: "...the Czechs not only beat us every time in ice hockey, give us hard time in football, but now they even receive the prestigious German DVD award...". But as the Czech Republic has become a regular EU member this year, we may say that a true European team made this all happen (of course with a kind and extensive support of the development center at Microsoft, Redmond).

Multi-purpose complex Palladium under surveillance of PANO WebCAM HR
A new unique project of a multi-purpose complex Palladium being erected in central Prague will feature top-quality office space and parking, apart from a large number of retail and catering facilities, and is expected to open in the 2nd half of 2007. The public will be able to watch the progress of the Palladium project on internet (similarly to SAZKA ARENA) with the help of a specialized web camera already within the first half of the next year. The management of the European Property Development (EPD), which is responsible for building of the multi-purposed complex, can monitor the project as early as today, thanks to the "PANO WebCAM HR", an original solution made by Digital Media Production enabling to shoot in time-collected way even up to 8Mpix pictures (!) under the panoramic angle of view of 360 x 150 degrees (!). Included in the software suite is an automatic archiving system and a special browser of time-collected records in the form of animations as well as a remote control of the camera. This system is designed for year-long operation 24/7 and will be running during the whole time of the construction. The camera outputs are already being used for documentation of the construction as well as for marketing and sales activities.

Interactive information schemes: strategic management of arena operations
While organizing complex events such as World Ice Hockey Championship (IIHF 2004) or World Cup (NHL 2004) it is inevitable to manage effectively a vast amount of human, time and technology resources, usually in quite complex arena space (taking into account the amount, shape and type of the rooms, corridors, entrance, safety etc.) and mostly in extraordinary short time. The Prague SAZKA ARENA belongs to the most modern facilities of its type also in the area of operational and strategic management innovations. One of the examples it is a very flexible system generating interactive information schemes of any set up, incl. those which are variable in time. Thanks to the special 3D technologies of contour (cartoon) shading developed in Digital Media Production and integrated in the 3D computer model of the arena it is possible to display orderly any real space cuts through the arena (or its parts) and configure them interactively at any time to fit literally any requirements. The outputs are used also for the basic information diagrams, mercantile materials, projection of safety and escape strategies of the arena, as well as for the system and sales offers e.g. for commercial rent. The usage is extended also to Internet pages, Operation Manual, Staff Handbook, Promoters' Manual, Safety Guidelines, Euro-posters in the foyer of the SAZKA ARENA. For more information on information schemes on the web look here.

Sit down in the SAZKA ARENA!
Internet presentation of the SAZKA ARENA project has been recently enriched with a possibility to sit down at virtually any place in the arena (in the ice-hockey setting). The core of that solution is based on a regularly updated 3D interactive model of the SAZKA ARENA developed by Digital Media Production. In co-operation with SAZKA TICKET experts the Seating plan was created in such a way that it corresponds to the really sold tickets for the ice-hockey matches. Everybody who purchased a valid ticket for an ice-hockey match in the SAZKA TICKET network may thus only fill in the number of his/her seat and the "DMP/RT3D" technology enables him to sit down visually in the arena. In the next version we plan even a virtual view from every seat for all events held in the SAZKA ARENA, such as concerts, shows and others. For more information on the seating plan look at these web pages.
